About Me

Welcome to JerSar.com - Jeremy Sarnovsky's web presence. Please feel free to browse the above links to learn more about me, my interests, activities, and work areas.

I grew up in the bustling metropolis of White Lake, Michigan. My earliest memory is of mistakenly eating a banana peel when I was four years old (and listening to a very engrossing story in kindergarten), and then worrying that it would poison me. I spent the my K-12 education in the Huron Valley Public Schools, culminating in my graduation from Lakeland High School. At Lakeland, I was fortunate enough to play on the varsity ice hockey team, earning All-Metro Detroit Honorable Mention and All-League honors as a goaltender. My family consists of my parents and my younger brother, Tom. My parents still live in Michigan, though not in the house where I grew up, while my brother is also living in Michigan and working hard as a Physician Assistant. I still spend some of my summers in Lions Head, Ontario - where we still have family.

After high school I attended Eastern Michigan University for a semester, before ultimately transferring and completing my education at Oakland University in Rochster, Michigan. At Oakland, I co-founded the Men's Ice Hockey Club Team, serving as President during the team's first competitve year. I was also fortunate enough during this time to travel to Iceland for a hockey tournament that our club team would participate in. During college, I was also involved in the Sigma Pi Fraternity. After graduation, I spent some time as a software programmer for Siemens Automotive, before moving on to law school at the University of Richmond. During law school, I also laced 'em up for the UR Ice Hockey team for two years, and helped out as a coach for one.

I currently work for Georgetown University, where I'm the Manager of Information Systems and Technology Contracts, allowing me the chance to use both my legal and computer science training in order to assist in the university's acquisition and use of technology. Through my position at Georgetown University, I was able to travel to Doha, Qatar in 2006 to help the University set up it's new School of Foreign Service in Qatar. This trip is certainly one of the highlights of my life so far. I also have an orange tabby cat named Saber, whooffers hours of amusement.

On July 12, 2009 I met the most wonderful woman at a friends wedding in Las Vegas. Denise and I met that day at a pool party at the MGM Grand Casino - I was a guest of the groom, she was a guest of the bride. That was the beginning of a fairy tale courtship that saw us engaged on Thanksgiving 2009, and later married on New Years Eve 2009. Although we lived over 1000 miles apart, we both knew we wanted to be together forever. So, after a 6 month courtship, we eloped to St. Augustine, FL where we married on the beach on New Years Eve, and later watched the fireworks. I've never been happier than I am now that my beautiful wife Denise and stepdaughter Ava are in my life.
